'Supernatural,' 'Doom Patrol' actor Mark Sheppard shares he had 'six massive heart attacks'

"Supernatural" and "Battlestar Galactica" star Mark Sheppard is opening up about a significant health scare.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Sheppard, 59, said he suffered "six massive heart attacks" after collapsing in his kitchen Friday.
"Six massive heart attacks later, and being brought back from dead 4 times I apparently had a 100% blockage in my LAD," he wrote under a selfie taken while laying in a hospital bed. "The Widowmaker."
LAD, the left anterior descending artery, is the largest coronary artery, according to the Cleveland Clinic. A blockage of the LAD can cause a fatal type of heart attack known as "the widowmaker."
Sheppard thanked his wife, Sarah Louise Fudge, the Los Angeles Fire Department and Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in California, saying if not for them, "I wouldn't be writing this."
"My chances of survival were virtually nil. I feel great," he said. "Humbled once more."
"Supernatural" castmate Misha Collins commented on the post: "Mark! You don't need to do the most and biggest every time! 6 heart attacks? 2 or 3 would have been impressive enough.
"You've impressed us, okay. Now stop with this heal up and get back on the road with us," he continued. "Love you, pal."
Sheppard had spoken of being in an unspecified "recovery period" on Instagram earlier in the week. In a Nov. 20 post, he wrote of his 40-pound weight loss, and in July, Sheppard shared about his "nasty little bout with skin cancer" that left him with a "wide gash in (his) belly."
Sheppard appeared in 67 episodes of "Supernatural" as Crowley, in Seasons 5-12. He also appeared in multiple episodes of "Battlestar Galactica" as Romo Lampkin, "Leverage" as Jim Sterling, "Doom Patrol" as Willoughby Kipling, "Warehouse 13" as Benedict Valda and most recently as Hagan on "Walker: Independence" Season 1.
